Fans of the Friday movie are elated everywhere after rapper and filmmaker Ice Cube confirmed on Twitter February 19 that there will be a new Friday movie coming. After a fan inquired on twitter whether or not the rumors were true, Cube responded with a ‘yes’.


The Friday franchise made its first debut in 1995, and was directed by F. Gary Gray and also written by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh. The film starred actors such as Cube, Chris Tucker, John Witherspoon, Regina King, and Anna Maria Horsford; following that was Next Friday which was released in 2000 and starred Ice Cube and Mike Epps. And the last film; Friday After Next was released shortly after in 2002. ‘Last Friday‘ is said to be the last installment of the franchise.
